Basketball is one of the many sports at Special Olympics. Through playing basketball, athletes develop fine motor skills & muscular strength. Athletes will learn the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting & running.
Athletes with higher physical and cognitive capabilities will participate in team games which require teamwork, strategy and stamina. Athletes of lower abilities participate in stations and drills which help to improve their physical abilities in a progressive pace.
Basketball is one of the sports where athletes can improve their physical fitness and mental strength together with their social skills. Athletes will have a chance to participate in the following:

Individual Skills Contest
Team Skills Basketball
Unified Sports Basketball
